I love combining science with my interest in how the body moves and my passion for horses.
I completed my veterinary education in Utrecht (NL) in 2015 and subsequently focused on my doctoral research on joints and joint cartilage in horses. Currently, I work part-time as assistant professor at Utrecht University, conducting research on aqua training and on facial pain expression in horses. I am also a qualified equine sports massage therapist and studying equine osteopathy.
For my research, I use objective methods to analyze horse movement. I specialized further in this area by completing the Equine Gait Analysis Society course in 2023. With the motion analysis app Sleip (designed for veterinarians and operating based on AI/computer vision), I support Robyn in the dynamic examinations of her patients. Providing objective data and long-term documentation that supports in decision-making and in communication with other professionals and clients.

I am an equine physiotherapist specializing in chiropractic care. My lifelong passion for horses and horse riding led me from Norway to the Netherlands in 2012, where I began riding full-time. It was here that I discovered my enjoyment in helping horses improve their performance and well-being, guiding me towards a career in physiotherapy, specializing in equine physiotherapy.

I advocate for a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. In daily practice, I work closely with, and often at, the Sporthorse Medical Diagnostic Centre (SMDC) alongside my fellow physiotherapy colleagues.

I help horses through groundwork and horsemanship to find relaxation and self-management. My goal is to teach horses how to be in control of themselves instead of being controlled. By the awareness of where they might hold tension in their bodies, they can also learn how to let go of that tension. And they can become the best possible version of themselves.

After working with Tristan Tucker for 4,5 years, it has changed my perspective about this whole industry and what most of us have been doing to our horses for many years. It has been an eye-opening experience, and I learned a lot about myself and how horses learn. Being with horses teaches me every day to be a better person, a better version of myself. I learn something new every time I meet a new horse or a new owner. And through my own experiences I made it my mission to be the voice of those who are misunderstood or mistreated or not felt seen and/of heard.
It’s my passion to inspire and educate as many people as possible to make a better and more comfortable world for our horses. There is not a better teacher or a better mirror than a horse. And I would love to help people with their journey to create a better awareness and to become the best horse- person they were always meant to be.
